The users are running Outlook 2003 Client connecting to 2003 AD EXchange server. While Outlook is open, the users gets a message on the lower right corner of the desktop " Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange Server DALEXIZ01.xxx.xxx.com" The workstation will then freeze up. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks.

Start by troubleshooting your DNS setup. That's usually the culprit when I have experienced delays in accessing Exchange server. Make sure the workstations that have this problem have your internal DNS server as the primary DNS server, not the ISP DNS server.

Hi,
have you tryed with other user account?if this is a problem on every PC/evry user account then something is wrong on server side.otherwise i recommand doing the following steps:
1).try starting outlook in safe mode
go to run--->outlook /safe
2).make sure you close the outlook and delete the outcmd.dat from c:\documents and settings\<username or username.domainname(if the user is on domain)>\application data\microsoft\outlook and then restart the outlook
3).other reason might be a background service is running, check the CPU usage when you start outlook
4).try using ad aware to remove any spyware
5).after all put the Outlook CD in and do a reapir.
i hope it should solve the problem.

regards
REDDY

I'm not at the site and I'm just trying to help the LAN Administrator there. I only do Performance monitoring and the LAN person asked me for assistance. I'll forward these suggestions to them. Thanks all.
