outlook error message

error message: c:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\mailbox.pst could not be accessed. Access denied.

What is this error message and how do i fix it. I have checked out everything that i can think of. Please help . At this point i cannot recieve, or delete any messages.

A stab in the dark...try this.

On the File menu, click Data File Management.
Click the data file that you want to compact, and then click Settings.
Click Compact Now.
Note When you compact a .pst file, you do not have to exit Outlook.

File, Folder, Properties for "Personal Folders", Advanced button, Compact Now Button

(depending on your version of Outlook).

You might also want to use Windows Explorer, to make sure the mailbox.pst file actually exists at the path specified.

And if you are NTFS check the security properties of the file it is present in the stated path.
