For some reason I have two personal folders showing in my Outlook for the same set of folders. I thought that one was just a copy of the other but when I deleted something from it the same thing was deleted from the other folder so I'm pretty sure they are pointing at the same information. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but that didn't work. Any idea on how I can fix this problem? thanks

Make sure folder list view is ON (view>folder list).
Right click on one of the Personal Folders (2 should be listed, with all the inbox, outbox, etc... subfolders), and click close. Restart Outlook, how many appear now?

Did you expand the menu, sometimes you have to click the downward pointing arrow at the bottom of the menu.

Anyways, you need to get to a view where you can right click on one of the personal folders and choose close.
