Some time ago, Outlook began receiving e-mail even when it was closed. I was ambivalent about this; I liked not having to wait after opening Outlook, but did not like the idea of internet access occurring without my direct knowledge.

Sometime later, the video driver crashed and I had do a power off/on to recover.

After that, Outlook will no longer receive automaticallly upon open. I have to click on the Send/Recive button to receive my e-mail. I'm sure these two options are burried somewhere in the menuss, but I can't find them. Can anyone tell me where they are?

For Outlook 2002 and 2003 look in:
Tools>options>Mail Setup Tab>send/receive button
There is a "send immediately when connected" tick box (Office 2003)there are also a number of other send and receive options.

Thank you![medal]
Now a new (minor) problem has cropped up. When I open a message, it comes up in a window as opposed to full screen.
This is one of the thinks I hate about Mocrosoft (sic)products: deeply burried options change without the user's permission or awareness.

When I open a message, it comes up in a window as opposed to full screen.

Assuming Outlook 2003 or below:

When you open the message drag the message to the size that you want (do NOT use the maximize button). Then use file ->close (do NOT use the X to close the message) and the next time you open a message it should be the size that you want.

Cheers.
