Outlook default program for hyperlinks 1

I must've suffered a major neural shutdown today when a user showed me that when clicking on a hyperlink in an outlook e-mail, a message box came up saying no program was associated with this and would she please select a program. So, without thinking twice, I selected c:\windows\explorer.exe.

So now, when she clicks on a hyperlink, she gets explorer and it's open file dialog instead of a web page (I KNOW - GOD, more coffee - MORE coffee)

I couldn't find this setting anywhere in Outlook (it's obviously not a preference - duh!) so I logged in as administrator and went to Set Program Access and Defaults in the Add/Remove Programs window and set it to All Windows default. nothing. Then I noticed updates were in order so I updated the PC and installed IE 7. reboot. maybeee.... nothing.

Must be a registry key. Except I know Linux better than windows regedit - so HELP! Thx in advance, hope this at least entertains those of you who read the post.

Assuming that this is Windows XP: Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab, scroll down and select URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Advanced button, select the Open action, then Edit button.

Application used to perform the action should be:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome

DDE Message should be:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,

Application should be:
IExplore

Topic should be:

http://WWW_OpenURL

If you ever make this mistake again for something else, you can also go into windows explorer, Tools - Folder Options - File Types tab, scroll down to the extension you screwed up and either edit the program it uses or just delete it from the list and the next time it will ask you again.

Normally it defaults to whatever you pick as your default web browser so going in and re-selecting your browser as the default may fix it too.
