I installed a contact management program called Plaxo that integrated with Outlook. After installation, I began having problems with Outlook just disappearing when I had it open. I uninstalled Plaxo, hoping this would correct the issue, but Outlook still crashes--the only difference is it now pops up an error message, "Outlook has encountered an error and needs to close..." rather than just disappearing, and then automatically restarts itself after asking to send the error report to Microsoft.
I've tried repairing my Outlook installation, reinstalling Office, and most recently, just upgraded to Office 2003. I have run System Mechanic to correct registry and/or other system errors.
The Outlook error persists, and keeps shutting my email down within a few minutes after each time it's opened.
Is there anything else I can try besides reformatting and a clean install?
