Outlook Crashes on startup

Infected or corrupt email was downloaded (Kaspersky AV did not kill it!)

Each time I go to open it back up with the intent of deleting the offending file, Outlook crashes before I can get to the file.

I tried running Kaspersky on the PST file, but everytime it gets to that file (some kind of VODAFONE rebate scam) Kaspersky crashes as well, requiring a reboot.

Is there any way I can open the PST file outside of Outlook, locate the offending email (last one received) and cut it out of the PST. I dont think the PST is actually corrupted, I believe its the email that is qued up in the inbox upon opening that is crashing it.

Hi,

It might be worth booting into safe mode with networking, and running an online scan from someone like

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

or

http://www.ewido.net

to see if the virus can be cleaned in that manner.

Then see if outlook boots.
