hello,

i have a question regarding creating new Contacts in Outlook 2003 (recently converted from Outlook 2000). One of the user from our network has an error when clicking on the 'phone numbers' when creating new contacts.

Besides the name of the contact, new contacts have input boxes in the 'Phone numbers' field, which breaks up into 4 default categories: Business..., Home..., Business Fax..., and Mobile...

When you click on these control buttons, what normally happens is the phone properties window pop up and you can enter additional phone details, such as area code, local #, etc.

In this case however, the user clicks, and then outlook freezes for about 15 seconds. during this freeze, it shows up as Not Responding in Task Manager and system idle process is at a normal 99%.

Once it becomes unfrozen, the phone properties does not pop up.

Any suggestions is appreciated. thanks

have you solved this problem? and if so, how. im having the same issue.

Have you disabled telephony services?
Try enabling them, that should/could fix the problem with outlook.
