We have a user that has a home office. Over the last week or so he's been having a reoccuring problem. He connects to our domain via a Cisco VPN client. He has access to the shared drives, the mail server, and all other normal network tools. However, he's been having a problem where his Oulook just keeps losing it's connection. He gets this error:
Task "Microsoft Exchange Server" reported error (0x80040115): "The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
I've been researching the error like crazy and can't come up with anything really solid. When I first looked at this he had Office XP, Office 2003 Professional, and Office 2003 Enterprise all installed on his laptop. Don't know how, but I changed that and I uninstalled everything, whiped the reg keys, and then reinstalled Office 2003 Enterprise. Then for about 3 days that worked great. Now it's happening again.
What's weird is that he doesn't lose internet connection when this happens, I remote in to him through the VPN/internet connection, he still has access to the exchange server and the domain controller, but Outlook just keeps giving that error. I can ping the exchange server and it replies back in a normal response time.
Anyone have any ideas??? I'm really lost here.
