Outlook can't log in to server

whenever i launch outlook xp i wait and wait and then it pops up with a message saying "your microsoft exchange server is unavailable". it was working fine one day and the next day i got this message. at first i thought that maybe it was their server or my internet, but my internet works fine, and it's been about a week now. what can i do about this? any help is appreciated. thanks.
