Outlook can not resolve name

I have a wierd problem...when attempting to use outlook with exchange, i enter the users name in the Microsoft Exchange setup in outlook and hit check name. It comes back and tells me that Outlook cannot communicate with the address book and the name cannot be resolved. On a laptop right next to the machine, I can set it up just fine.

Its a win2k machine and the user does have local admin rights...any ideas??

I recently had this problem where I can ping the excahnge Server through it's Host Name and it's IP Address but i was getting the error error Microsoft Exchange...The name could not be resolved. Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server Computer. What you want to do is Uninstall the TCP/IP Protocol and reinstall it. Something happened with the bindings.
