Outlook appointments

does anyone know if there is a collection object for all the appointments in the current instance of outlook? I'm writing a macro, and I want to be able to give it a date range, then reference each appointment in that time frame for reporting purposes. I know there is a appointmentItem object, but that I can create, but I don't know where to reference existing appointments.
