We have a sbs2008 server installed and about 20 clients connect via outlook anywhere (rpc over https). Every now and then the connection between the client and server will be very slow - it will take 15-20 minutes to send receive 10-15 100K messages - but when logging in to OWA there is no similar problem.

My users have noticed this happens even inside the office on the lan, as well as across different ISPs at client's homes. They have also noticed that if one person closes outlook, another person is let in.

Is there a limit to the number of outlook anywhere clients on a stock sbs2008 install or could this be a problem within IIS? We have enough user cals for all of our users. The people with desktops who connect to the exchange server via the regular method do not experience this problem at all.

thanks, J4M. I couldn't find a starting point in my googling but these both seem really good information. I'm going to be back there later this week and give the sbs blog resolution a try.

Glad to help out, please do come back to the thread and let us know how you get one
