Outlook and leave messages on server problem

Hi,
I've configured MS Outlook 2003 to work with my email account. The option "leave copy of messages on server" is checked. MS Outlook do leave messages on server, only next time while mail check, it is downloading them again!

I spend couple of hours trying figure out what is wrong. I checket my email account with alternative email programs (like The Bat) and they are working just fine. So I guess the problem is in Outlook not in my email account.

Any suggestions are welcome, thanx.

Does the other program also leave the messages on the server?

Yes. More tha that, if I check email with (for example) the bat email program and it lives messages on server and do not try to download them again. MS Outlook is still trying to download complete set of messages. It looks like MS Outlook can't read the some sort of flag assiciated with message on server.
