Outlook and Imap

Hi.. My boss uses both outlook 2000 sr1 and webmail (leaves a copy on the server). Hes bad at deleting stuff, keeps it all. I had to reinstall his outlook and import his pst file, however when outlook did its 1st receive it wanted to d/load all the messages on the server (4200 of them)Of course outlook has an issue with d/loading more than 1200 emails.

I changed his account from pop to imap, as a result he has 2 inboxs, one with his old emails from the pop account and a new one from the imap account. (sorry for being longwinded).

Heres my question...Is there anyway to have outlook open up automatically in the IMAP inbox??.. Currently outlook opens in the old POP inbox, and my boss gets mad because he forgots what inbox hes in....
