I would like to create a recurring meeting that essentially does a countdown to a specific date. Not being really conversant in VB, I've tried #5/4/03# - date() and received an error message that I don't understand. Can this, a count down type function, be used in Outlook?
TIA

I created a recurring meeting for everyday @ 8:00 am and then under Tools, Macro where I entered what I assume is the VB editor. I thought I'd create a function CountDown() that contained the formula.

Yes, you can create a formula to give the number of days remaining. But then what do you do with the formula? What do you want to happen?

What I want to happen is display the number of days remaining to a specific date. When I open the Outlook calendar, a day at a time, the information for that day would include the number of days til a specific date. I thought I needed to create a recurring appointment that would contain the formula. Possible?

I think recurring appointments have a constant message. Not clear how you'd apply a function that changes the message depending on the day.

I thought if a macro could be applied to an appointment, that each appointment would use the macro to count the number of days until the specified date. E.g., if it's 2/4/03, the macro calculates 92, if it's 2/5/03, the macro calculates 91, etc. What does the macro tool do for you?
