Hello,

In Outlook 2000 the contacts are showing up in the contact screen ( icon on left ), but when you click the address book there is an permission error and the contacts will not display in there ( click address book icon, set the "show names from the:" drop down to contacts ). any ideas?

background:
the computer was resently rebuilt and a ghost image was used for backup. the account was setup and email and contacts where imported from the backuped up .pst file.

to resate the contacts are there but the user wants them to showup in the address book and it gives errors. this works on my outlook without a problem.

any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

You may need to find the outlook.pst and check the security settings. You may need to change it to 'everyone' - not in hte share, but the usage of the file. Also take off the read only if it's there. I've had the same problem, but it's a quick fix. That's for the permission issue.

Hope it works!
