I just put a second drive in a 486/33 because the user ran out of room on the existing drive. I am now attempting to setup Outlook 98 on it. During the setup I am directing it to the D drive but setup dies and I get a message that there is not enough room on the C drive. Why is this referring to the C drive? Is there any way to remedy this?
Outlook 98 installs files into the c:\windows\system directory. Setup also installs IE 4.01 if it is not already installed. If you have an older version of IE, setup is probably trying to upgrade it in the present directory (c:\program files\internet explorer for example). This would explain your error if the drive was already full.
The best I can tell, your only option is to use Outlook 97 instead. It doesn't have all the "new" setup features 98 does:)
