Hi all. I'm working here for a company that has Novell instead of Active Directory etc. Alos, using Outlook 98 and windows 2000 on the desktops. Anytime someone tries to attach a file to an e-mail that is on the network that is a few directories deep, they always get the error: "out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again"

is this a Novell issue or an outlook issue?

I had a similar problem. It said there was a size problem, but I found that it was actually the name it disliked: it was OK under Excel but not for Outlook, or caused some problem somewhere.

I suggest you try it with a 'safe' name for the attachment, letters and numbers only.

If anyone can shed more ligth on my original problem, I'd appreciate it.

I have seen this problem before, there is a fault in outlook 98, which causes this fault. It occurs if the folder path name is over a set length. You can prove this by renaming the file or one of the folders, or making a test folder. I believe there is a patch avaiable to fix this fault, sadly I do not know where this patch is located
