Outlook 97 and lost contact/calendar files

Was installing a new scanner when it seem to corrupt my Outlook 97 files. Now, when I open Outlook, the system tells me that it cannot find my files and would I like to open the default file instead. I've seemingly lost my contacts and calendar files.

I've found the .pst files on th harddrive but not sure which files I need to try to restore things back to the way they were. Any ideas?

Your *.pst file is crucial as it is your main file. I am not sure with 97 but you should have either a *.wab or *.pab or something like that for your address book. You need to also find that file, back it up, and then reinstall 97 and everything should work out ok. Hope that helps
