I have been having trouble for the last 4 weeks. Outlook 2000 sometimes gets timeout messages while downloading email from my ISP. My ISP Tech support says it is an Outlook problem that they don't support. It "times out" when I get to the message "clearing messages on the server..." The next time I download email (via dial-up) I get all the old ones again along with a few new ones. This means I may get the same email 4 or 5 times before getting a successful download.
ATTEMPTS:
--I have raised the "timeout limit" to 5 minutes, but that didn't help... it just took longer to time out.
--I read a post on thread605-619839 that said to synchronize, but my Outlook 2000 menu and help knows nothing about synchronizing.
FACTS:
MS Windows 2000
MS Office 2000 Standard (source of Outlook 2000)
Pentium 4, 1.1 GHz, 256MB RAM
Dial-up ISP at 38k~53k bps
Thanks in advance for your help!
Mike
