Outlook 2k autosending spam

Has anyone recently run into a situation where Outlook has started sending hundreds of spam messages from a local PC?

I have an account that recently started sending hundreds of mail msgs out and I have not been able to locate the culprit.

As soon as the mapisp32 app is activated, the messages start going out. Has anyone seen a situation where the mapi spooler has been hijacked?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's a virus. You need to get updates and run a scan.

They are using the freeware AVG virus protection. I have not been able to get them to upgrade. Maybe this will be the situation where I can get them into a better package.

I thought as much, but wanted to see if anyone has seen anything new out there in the past week or so.
