Hi All,
one of my users has started(today) having an issue with outlook 2007. Whenever she gets new mail it goes to the inbox, she opens the mail reads it closes it and then outlook deletes it. along with all the mail in her inbox.
Have checked the settings the current view is set to messages
and, i've watched, she is not deleting them, they just disappear from her inbox. I got her to log in via OWA and to confirm whether it was her machine or the server the inbox in OWA is also empty.
Now if she uses OWA the mail stays in the inbox so that seems to be ok but if she opens outlook it deletes it all again.
Would really like to know what is happening here with outlook.
Only this one user is having an issue at the moment everyone else is ok.

Regards
Max

Are you sure that the view isn't set to "unread messages"?

Otherwise, look at her rules.

Yes i am very sure, checked it a number of times

Try starting outlook with the /cleanviews switch and make sure there are no client only rules that might do this.

Found the problem
Husband of said woman had set up Outlook on her laptop at home so she could access mail from home (fair enough). However he had forget to set it to leave a copy of mail on the server. Her laptop at home was left on and logged in all day yesterday while she was here at work. So while she was at work her laptop at home was downloading the mail from the server. She came in this morning and told us that when she got home there was here laptop with outlook open and all her mail was there waiting to be read.

Regards
Max
