Outlook 2007 Freezes Computer

I have noticed that with Outlook 2007 that while it is checking for new incoming mail, that the entire computer is basically frozen until it stops looking.
Does anyone have a solution or any info.

Maybe your virus software is the culprit. Open task manager, processes tab. Click on CPU to sort the list showing highest at the top of the list. Watch as you download mail. Report back.

Why didn't I think of that. It worked. I am just conditioned to think that it was a Miccrosoft issue with Outlook 2007.
