Hi, I to have had this problem for the last few weeks and I've been racking my brains trying to figure out what I did to cause it. Haven't figured that out yet, but I have found a reasonably quick way to fix it. Go into Control, Mail, Show Profiles. Delete your current profile, probably called 'Outlook', then create a new one. You can also call it 'Outlook' if you wish. Link it to your .PST file, reconfigure your email account addresses and servers and you are done.
Note that there are several messages around that involve editing the registry etc. I've tried these and in my case they either didn't apply or didn't work. Microsoft even have a Knowledge Base article, but it only applies to Outlook 2000 and the registry keys mentioned don't exist for Outlook 2003.
