Hello:

At least a few times per week, when I close Outlook 2003, my McAfee Anti-Virus reports "bo:heap" detected, state "blocked by buffer overflow protection", pathname "\program files\microsoft office\office11\outlook.exe::WriteFile"

Anyone else seeing this issue? What can it be?

Thanks in advance,
CS

It is possible that you have a 'Back Orifice' virus/spyware on your system, from what I could make out from posting in various places on the net. I would suggest running a full sweep of your system, preferably after reading this article copied on my website:

NOD32 is available as a free trial and I haven't been back to a single machine as yet that I have enstalled it on.

Other people who use NOD32 are a little company called Microsoft:

Do a search on the page for 'renews', Nike UK, Canon and Dell are also users. All large companies; with Microsoft as we all know being a regular target for virus writers. I would normally say this but it is definitely a case of 'If it is good enough for Microsoft it is good enough for me'.
