outlook 2003 user cannot view DL members

I have a one user running XP and outlook 2003 who, when opening an email and clicking a recipient, cannot see any of the properties of the recipient. The properties box appears, but there is nothing in the views such as "member of". all other outlook 2003 users can see dl members and their properties. any help would be appreciated.
