We are using Exchange 2000 sp3 and our users have one of Outlook 2000/2002/2003. We are using windows 2000 server, no server 2003 products yet.
One of our Outlook 2003 users relies upon a notebook which he docks while in the office. He needs it outside the office as well so I guess that synchronization is the only solution to make it accessible to him while outside.
From some of the posts I have seen it appears that synchronization is more sophisticated for Outlook 2003, but I don't know the exact procedure. Also is the process the same whether one has Exchange 2000 or 2003? As a small office of 20+ users, we are not likely to move to Exchange 2003 very soon.
Any help on the procedure when synching with 2000 would be appreciated.

You can set them up to use Cached Exchange Mode. Works pretty well for our users. Open Outlook, go to Tools\Email Accounts. Click next to view or change accounts. Highlight your account and click Change. Put a check next to Cached Exchanged Mode, then click on out of it. They will need to synch up at the end of each day to update their offline store. This is different from Outlook 2000 where you had to synch. In 2003, all you do is choose Send|Receive. This will synch it all up.
Hope this helps.
