Outlook 2003 SP2 Hyperlink Question

Afternoon all,
have an end user who is putting a hyperlink into an outlook mail. when it is sent the receiver can open it fine, but if the sender attempts to open the link before sending (to verify that it works) it does not chow as a hyperlink.
all ready tried a compact and repair.
any other suggestions?

is the message composed in HTML or plain text?

the former should allow you to hit the spacebar after inserting the link, and it will convert to a hyperlink. or you can ctrl+k it

the latter, well don't think it will do that for you so confirm before inserting the link.

email is html.
the funny thing is that it doesn't work on the senders original copy only (before sent) - if they go to the sent items they can activate the hyperlink. the receiver can activate the hyperlink. if the sender sends to their email (or cc's their email) they can activate the hyper link on the received email.
the test for the hyperlink appears as hyperlink text - but no change to the curser on mouse over (before mail is sent)

how did ctrl+click go?

If you are using Word 2k3 to edit emails, open word > tools > options > edit tab > make sure "use ctrl+click to follow hyperlink" is checked.

no go on ctrl+click.
not using ms word as email editor.
like i said funniest thing - if it's typed new or a forwarded email on mouse over the cursor does not change to the hand. but if the email is forwarded to the account (even from the one having the issue) hyperlink works fine - on mouse over cursor changes.
