OFFICE 2003

When attempting to configure the exchange account we get an error stating that the exchange server is not available.

I have created a host file thinking it was a DNS problem
I can ping the exchange server
I can trace route to the machine
The user is a local admin
Created another windows profile and the same thing happens

We can reach the server via POP.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2003 std twice
we have also run the office removal tool after each uninstall.

I also tryed the command from the commnad prompt
profile cleaner and pst cleaner

What the heck else can we try?

Anything Would be great

Remove the mail account settings in outlook completely, try again.

If still no go, remove the mail account settings, remove the computer from the domain, and reattach it. I saw this a few months back, I believe one of these fixed it.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Matt
Should I remove the account from the control panel or from outlook?

Another question

I created another windows user profile and then went to create an outlook account for that other user and I get the same error?

Remove it from either should do. I would remove all accounts from all profiles. If that doesn't clear it up, remove that pc from the domain and reattach.
