The client who is having problems is running Outlook 2003 with Outlook Connector on a Windows XP SP2 laptop.
Problem just started up, all was working with the above before. Now Outlook 2003 is receiving only Plain Text emails.
I looked through all optional settings for Mail Format and ensured all was set to rich text, but all test messages sent to him were receiving still in plain text. I checked on World Client to ensure no settings on there had been set to plain text only, but everything here was also set to HTML rather than plain text.
Checked on the MS KB but found nothing. I then checked through all of the options, enabled the display emails in plain text and then disabled it. This clearly must be a problem with Outlook and not an issue with a setting being changed.
I tried reinstalling Office but this did not fix the problem. Emails sent from himself, to himself seem to be keeping their formatting, it just seems to be emails coming in from other users that are not going through correctly. I had a look at his Internet security settings under Office but these did not seem different from anyone else's settings.
I Hoped the following would cure this problem, but it did not:
To turn on the Read all standard mail in plain text option, follow these steps:
1. Start Outlook 2003.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Preferences tab, in the E-mail area, click E-mail Options.
4. In the Message handling area, click to select the Read all standard mail in plain text check box.
Note By default, the Read all standard mail in plain text option is turned off.
Nothing seems to be working and our client is getting a little stressed obviously as all incoming emails are in plain text!
Any ideas???
