outlook 2003 "access is denied" when opening attchs

Any attachment at all. I click, for instance, an .wmv and I get a popup that says "Access is denied." No important file types are blocked in 'Level1Remove' in the registry.

I have cleaned out the OutlookSecureTemp folder. I used a software called OutlookTools to "unblock" all extensions.

I created a new profile. I have created a new OutlookSecureTemp folder. I have uninstalled Outlook, cleaned the registry and reinstalled.

Nothing I can do fixes this.

XP Pro SP 3.
Office Outlook 2003 SP3.

I had errors in Outlook 2003 when open attachments and resetting IE to defaults cleared up mine. Easy thing to try at least

Thanks, dip--it was definitely worth a try, but did not work. Getting to the point where I am considering downgrading to OL2002.

Thanks. I had seen that one. The one person seemed so confident I felt sure that she knew what she was talking about.

I cleaned out the folder pursuant to her idea. I even went into the reg and made a new folder that was totally empty. I made it c:\outlook-temp so I could easily monitor it.

I still get the same error.
