Outlook 2003 - outbox stuck "Message 1 of 1"

I can receive emails, however, I can't send any emails the status bar say "message 1 of 1" i have removed everything from the outbox and tried another utility to clear the outbox, any help????

Have you checked your mail settings to make sure your outgoing/SMTP is correct? Granted you might not have manually changed it but its best to make sure it is still correct.
