I have a user that is getting errors(Operation failed) in Outlook 2003. The E-mails have other attached E-mails with attached Docs in them. If she restarts Outlook, it may work or it may not. It seems random when clicking on the atttachments to get the error, sometimes it pops up sometimes not. I forwarded one of the E-mails to myself and have no issues, so it's her issue. I gave her a new outlook profile and renamed Frmcache.dat, still does it. Not sure what else it could be.

Are you using Exchange? I've seen this with OL2K and Ol2K3 if your antivirus solution updates its DAT (or signature) files between the time the email passed through Exchange and the time it was attempted to be opened. This is because the Exchange agent rescans the email before it is opened if the DAT files have been updated. Depending on the size of the email and attachments I've seen it take 4 or 5 crashes of Outlook before the email is fully scanned and will open.

Cheers.

Check that she is maintaining a constant network connection
