Outlook 2003 not receiving mail

Hello,

all of a sudden, I am no longer able to connect to my ISP to receive mail. Internet seems to have stopped too. I have changed NO settings.

Error message from outlook as follows:

Task 'mail.tesco.net (1) Receiveing' reported error (0x80040900): 'The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarilly)' Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.

Any ideas?
Connected to TESCO.net broadband via modem.
Network looks like it's connected as the icon on task bar is flashing away OK.
Help!

How long have you been connected to tesco? Have you recently install windows xp sp2. Can you use the internet? Please open a command prompt, type ping

http://www.google.com

and tell me what it says, Thanks

Thanks for reply. Will need to get back to you on that one. PC in question is used by a work colleague, who isn't here today. Will let you know answer ASAP.

Col, If the answer to the first question is weeks hell be having the same issue i had with them and they will need to get bt to alter the exchange for a data stream network. But in this case hell need to contact tesco else let me know about the other Q's and ill look into it.
