Outlook 2003 Multiple Read Receipts

We have office 2k3 installed on our pcs and one user has found that when they request a read receipt for their emails there is one person on the network that generates 2 read receipts each time they open a new message with the read reciept turned on - it does not occur for any other users, and does not appear to be machine specific.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding this problem?
