outlook 2003 keeps prompting with login only on certain emails

we have exchange 2003, most users are outlook 2003 (few have 2007).

it appears that when a certain user who has the company logo in his outlook signature sends email to two specific users, those users keep getting prompted with the outlook authentication box when they try to open his email.

only happens to his email.

I have outlook 2007, and when the forward it to me the attachment does not appear, has a red X where the logo would go.

what would cause this to happen?

have found an indication of the error. user smithj sent an email to krikk. user kirkk then forwarded that email to others, who had the issue with authentication window.

when you view the source of the email, the part for the image in the signature refers back to the draft folder of kirkk, which no one has rights to.

why would it do that?
