Outlook 2003 Issue

I have a user with XP Pro/ Office 2003. He has no problem with his email normally but if he tries to open and MSG file under it generates the following error "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If problem persists, restart outlook".

I've started outlook in safe mode and the msg files open. When I open outlook in "normal" mode I get the same errors.

Any one got any suggestions how to fix this?

Should have mentioned that in the original post. All OS and Office updates carried out.

I haven't created a new Outlook profile for him and I don't really want to create a new user profile for him. But if I have to then needs must.

create a new profile and see. Copy his .n2k file and ost file to his new profile for use and try it. Can't hurt...
