Outlook 2003 Eating Embedded Excel Doc

I have a user who has been getting embedded Excel docs through outlook 2003. The email renders correctly on their iphone but in Outlook 2003 it strips the embedded Excel doc and displays headers and other various types of code, including the actual text that should be rendered within the context of that embedded Excel document..

Any ideas what may be causing this? Seems other embedded docs render just fine..
