People inside our building send me emails and sometimes I don't get them until the next day.
In the morning they seem to come in OK , but like now I hit send and receive and get nothing. and in the afternoon they don't come in. If I close Outlook then reopen it then hit send and receive then they come it. It only seems to be my machine.

Any ideas?

Take your machine for an afternoon walk each day. I know it does me a lot of good to just take a walk every few hours.

Check that it isn't being triggered into Off Line state.

Are you using Exchange or some POP3 service? If you have a mail server the mails get delivered to the inbox on the server so your problem may not be related to Outlook. It may also be related to your Outlooks ability to connect to your mail server.

It could be that a firewall on your PC is blocking traffic also.

When you have the problem you can try a telnet test, go to a command prompt and type (mailserver = the name of your mail server e.g. mail.yourcompany.com or 192.168.1.2)

telnet mailserver 25 (if you are using exchange normally)
telnet mailserver 110 (if you are using a POP3 server)

And you should see something about smtp etc, if not then you might have a connectivity problem between Outlook and your mail server.
