Outlook 2003 continues to run...

After closing Outlook, it continues to run. I can go to the task manager and close it that way. Any Ideas on how to resolve this problem.
Running Window Office 2003 with Window XP

Other MAPI enabled programs can get a "hook" into Outlook and prevent it from closing.

Word seems to cause this problem for me.
