Outlook 2003 Contacts disappeared after manual archiving.

After one of my users manually archived thousands of messages, during the process his Cotacts folder got lost. The Contacts folder exists but nothing in it. Out of 45 contacts all are gone. Even more, his Contacts folder is not available for restore from BackuExec. All other user can have Contacts restored.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Is this an Exchange environment? Was it archived to a pst file?

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Yes, it is Exchange 2000 and messages were archived to a .pst file but there is no contacts in the archive.

And when you say the contacts aren't available to be restored. Does that they weren't backed up? Or does it mean they were backed up, but when you select it in your restore job, there was nothing in the contacts folder for this user?

Looks the Contacts were not backed up but anything else was: Inbox, Calendar, Folders, Views, etc.
