I'm using Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP. I routinely send out emails to fellow workers that have Word documents as attachments.
I've noticed that if these Word documents have absolute URL addresses in them, the recipients end up with relative links that don't work.
An example..
What is contained in the original word document:
file:///\\servername\share\directory\filename.ext
What the recipient sees when they open the attachment:
F:\directory\filename.ext
The only way I have found to get around this is to send a link to the original document instead of sending a copy as an attachment.
Is there any way to keep Outlook from converting the absolute address of these embedded links into relative addresses?
Thanks....
