Hi all,

We have about 50 users connecting to Exchange 2003 via Outlook 2003.

One particular user seems to be running in a strange mode. In the bottom right hand corner where everyone elses says 'All folders are up to date' and next to that it says 'Connected', this particular user simply says 'Online'.

I noticed the issue when trying to add something to her blocked senders list in junk mail - i got the message '"the junk e-mail filter is not available for your exchange server because you are not running cached mode"

I have checked the settings and the cached mode is ticked.

Could anyone help with this please. It is not causing major headaches but I would like it to be the same as all others.

Thanks
John

Sometimes the local profile gets corrupted.

Close Outlook, search the hard disk for .ost files, delete any you find.

Use Control Panel, Mail, and delete the MAPI profile.

Create a new default profile, select Cached mode, and rerun Outlook. It will have to resync (rebuild a new ost file), so do it on the LAN.

Excellent, worked perfect.

Thanks so much, really appreciate it.

John
