Outlook 2003 always prompt ' mailserver unavailable'

Hi all,

I have a system on Winxp sp2 ( without starting the firewall option ) and outlook 2003. Whenever I start my outlook 2003 first thing after I switched on my PC, it will show ' mail server unavailable' But, after I clicked on the 'retry' button, I get to see my mails. I tried to ping my mail server's name and it was successful.

Anyone has any advice how this thing happened?

Try adding the mail server to the Hosts file ... shouldn't have to resolve then

Tried that. I am able to ping the mail server name but my outlook seems unable to find the server when I run the program
