I use Outlook 2002 compilation 6515(XP) to access my Hotmail account without problems.
But when I triyed to send from my new POP3/SMTP account, Outlook ask me for my password several times and finally I can't send the mail (the mail server use qmail).
I read lots of threads about this problem, but I can't found anything where explain a solution from the Outlook side.
I could be able to telnet to the server with out problem, testing my user id and my password. Everything goes OK.

I triyed with Outlook and Outlook Express and the problem is the same in both cases. In Outlook Express the final windows that appears is when the server is "Authorizing" the e-mail.
Can anyone help me ? Thanks !

Your password is wrong. If you're attempting to send, check the settings in Outlook for the outgoing server.

Check your email settings via your ISP's website to see if your OUTGOING SERVER requires authentication.

Not all ISP's require authentication before they let you send mail. I know my BT account requires it whereas Virgin accounts don't.

hope this helps.....

I check my outgoing configuration with the ISP and it's ok.
Unfortunatly, I still can't send mails from my Outlook.

Can you log into your hotmail account via the web independently of OUtlook? Just another way to verify that your password and username is correct.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Iggy
