Outlook 2002 SP3 creates multiple send and receives

Hi,

I have a problem with my Outlook 2002 SP3.

When I try and send and receive it hangs for ever and just keeps creating multiple send and receives.

It just hangs there creating more and more until I click on "cancel all".

I can't find any solutions through Google, so I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas?

It seems to work okay for small emails, but I'm trying to send a 7mb file (not my idea, by the way!) and this is when the whole thing hangs and tries to send and receive hundreds of times!
