I have found that the inbox rules on Outlook 2002 don't run consistently. I have several rules sorting mail from several accounts. I find that the rules work most of the time, but often, the mail just goes into the inbox. If I run the rules manually, then the mail will move. I have noticed this on several installations. Is this a bug?

Outlook 2002 Rules issues

Rules have never been a strong suit of Outlook (or most other mail applications for that matter). How rules work depends on if these are client rules or server rules that have been created and the position they are in. Rules are applied in the order in which they appear so sometimes you need to reposition the rules to get them to work correctly. joegz
