We have 3 Exchange 5.5 servers and Nt Workstations with Outlook 97.

We are planning to migrate to Windows and Office Xp shortly and Exchange servers will be migrated later on to Exchange 2000.

I was wondering if there will be (in)compatibility issues between Outlook 2002 and Exchange server 5.5 and there is nothing on Microsoft websites...

Anyone can help ?

We use it and it works fine. Running xp pro with office xp with exchange 5.5

Watch out for the instant messenger on outlook 2002 as it can cause major connection issues.. speed wise that is. But appart from that you shouldn't have too many issues.

Like Spirit said, unless you have a compelling reason to use MS Instant Messenger, you should go to your Outlook --> Tools --> Options --> Other and disable Instant Messenger.

Also, you should run the "shoot the messenger" utility at GRC.COM to turn off messenging -- again, unless you use it to notify users of system events or other messenging uses.

You also might consider making sure everybody's got enough RAM in their machines. I have a lot that run fine with 192 MB, but the more the better. With 128 or less, Outlook/Office seems to drag and churn a bit.

Also, by the time you read this, Outlook 2003 will be available. If possible, I'd suggest you go straight to Office 2003 unless you have some reasons not to.

Thanks alot :D

In fact we're going to test this this week with a brand new master configuration...

We plan to deploy this solution ASAP but in a first run only on new computers ;)

Thanks again :D
