My company uses Citrix Metaframe 1.8 for WIndows 2000 servers on which we have Office XP installed for our users.
Some, but not all, users cannot edit Word files stored in public folders in Outlook 2002. When they double-click the file, they get the error message:
"Outlook could not track the program used to open this document"
Word then opens with the document they have double-clicked. They change the document and save it, but the changes are not actually made. They have to save it as something else and then mess around deleting and renaming.
The permissions in the public folders are correct and only a few users are affected.
Microsoft recognise this as an issue in knowledge base article 284318, but don't give a solution!
Any kind soul out there have any ideas?
